Kartika Plaza Street – the southern wing of Kuta – has always been a festive row. Culinary joints with a smorgasbord of flavours and vibes, plus shops that sell everything from cheap souvenirs to world-class cosmetics can be found on every corner. Of course the fact that the street is parallel to the Segara Beach helps attract the crowd too. Recently the neighbourhood welcomed a new addition of a massive accommodation that is The Anvaya Beach Resort Bali.

Not one to shy away from boasting the quantity, Anvaya offers 495 lavish guestrooms and suites, and also one luxurious villa. For a quick, personal getaway, I opted to stay at the Premiere Lagoon Access Room that comes with a very comfortable king-size bed, a smart Internet Protocol Television, a posh bathroom with premium amenities, a direct access to the lagoon pool, and of course, everything one would expect from a five-star hotel.

Anvaya basically has a little bit of something for everyone. If you’re looking for a more private and secluded space of your own, the Anvaya Suite is a sure bet. If you want a more tropical vibe with closer access to the beach, the Beachfront Private Suite is definitely a charming darling. Of course if you want to go big, go for the one and only, two-bedroom Anvaya Villa.

The comfort and the facilities that come with Anvaya make it really hard to leave the premises. For a beachfront Mediterranean delicacies, Sands Restaurant is there and ready to serve you. But if you really want to bask in the merriment of the vicinity, Kunyit Restaurant sits right by the Kartika Plaza Street and serves authentic Bali flavours. Sakanti Spa is able to relieve the unwanted stress, and families should take a note that Anvaya has its own fun Kids’ Club. The hotel is also perfect for big groups who want to hold meetings, conventions, or other events, considering it has a massive grand ballroom and nine meeting rooms.

in a nutshell
The namesake itself means connection, and that’s what Anvaya wants to bring to its guests. A connection between the Bali Aga (ancient Bali) to the modern Bali that we know and love today; evident from the touch of traditional elements in every aspect of the sophisticated resort. For me personally, the connection was between the serene and comfortable atmosphere I got from staying at the hotel and also the always-lively energy of the surrounding people and neighbourhood.
