20 Ways to Fall (More) in Love in Bali

hellobali, Feb, 08, 2017

Escape the hustle and bustle of tourist Bali and discover true magic by delving into the paradise island by bike. Explore Bali’s rural side on the stunning and scenic Ubud Eco Cyclingtour, full of local culture and originality. Start with breakfast overlooking an active volcano, quest through secret back roads and stop-off to enjoy classic Balinese staples like coffee, cocoa, vanilla and exotic fruits. With three options available, we recommend the Ubud tour as it includes a 30 minute massage to help relieve any aches and keep your date swooning, of course.

If your date is a sucker for cute baby animals; which face it, they will be, then you’ll want to head down to the Turtle Conservation and Education Centre, in Pulau Serangan. Take a tour around the centre and find out how the turtles are rescued, rehabilitated and re-released into the wild before getting hands-on and squeezing their adorably small faces until your weak at the knees. And, if you really want to step it up a notch, you can pay a small donation to adopt a turtle and set it back into nature with your own hands. What a hero!

There are several chocolate making experiences available in Bali, but none as authentic as Charlie’s Chocolate Factory in the small village of Jasri. Hidden amongst wacky bamboo structures and coconut trees rests a shack full of life's greatest gift; cocoa beans. Sourced locally, the beans are cold pressed to make scrumptious treats and even better smelling handmade soaps. Have a romantic sway on the homemade swing outside and enjoy the experience knowing that at 85% pure, the anti-oxidant rich chocolate is actually quite healthy.

Chasing waterfalls is so 2016, lead the way for a much more exhilarating experience in waterblowing. The region of BTDC Nusa Dua is packed with natural beauty and, where waves meet the narrow innings of the reef, it forces the water to leap and explode high into the sky. Hold hands and cling on for mercy at the hands of the beautiful ocean with steep cliffs and bright sea colours in the backdrop. Just remember to tell your date they are more than likely to get completely soaked.

The most adventurous option of the five, you can go full Rambo on your date and hunt down abandoned planes. Given, it may lack a little romance, but you won’t be knocked back for originality. One winged masterpiece is located between Jl. Raya Legian Kuta and Indo Nature Stone in Kuta, while the other (a little a hater to find) is in South Kuta, along the Jalan Nusa Dua Selatan. A 40 minute from walk from Pandawa Beach, however, it would make for some great photos at the end of a leisurely stroll. In fact, keep it a surprise and claim you’re the first to find it. Now that’s a date!
